Size: H 34cm x W 28cm x D 8cm
Materials: French linen, beeswax, natural dyes
Wax Atelier dye the cloth in small batches in-house, and therefore each bag will vary slightly in shade and tone. We believe this is a feature and not a flaw of hand-crafted objects.
About Wax Atelier
Wax Atelier re-visits traditional techniques ranging from candle dipping, paper making, to crafted textiles using natural wax. Making becomes a tool to experience the interconnection between the natural world and material culture.
Wax Atelier was founded in 2017 by multidisciplinary designers Lola Lely and Yesenia Thibault-Picazo, in London.
Born in Hanoi, Lola grew up in London and was curious from an early age about how objects are made. Drawing, making and the connection between materials, process and maker are all central to her practice.
Yesenia is a French-born musician and designer. Exploring narrative potentials of materials through collaborations with experts in the fields of geology, anthropology and craft, she uses design as a means to engage with diverse audiences on contemporary ecological challenges.
